Recap: Davenport Wolves vs. Canyon Lake
The Davenport Wolves waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Canyon Lake out 53-51. That's another feather in the cap for Davenport, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cameron Gaston was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Ricky Groff was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Canyon Lake, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-16.
Davenport will stay at home for another game and welcome Fredericksburg at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Canyon Lake, they will head out on the road to challenge Bandera at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
