Basketball Game Preview: Midlothian Heritage Jaguars vs. Red Oak Hawks

The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the Red Oak Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Midlothian Heritage comes in on four and Red Oak on five.

It was a proper cat-fight when Midlothian Heritage took on Midlothian on Tuesday. Midlothian Heritage walked away with a 49-41 win over Midlothian.

Ava Batty was her usual excellent self, putting up 19 points. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Finch, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Red Oak was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Terrell 70-32. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Red Oak pushed their record up to 14-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Midlothian Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Midlothian Heritage didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Red Oak in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 36-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midlothian Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
