Basketball Recap: Westerville South Takes Down Bishop Watterson in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westerville South walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Bishop Watterson Eagles with a sharp 56-34 win on Tuesday. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 22 points or more this season.

Ariyana Cradle was her usual excellent self, putting up 17 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. The match was her fourth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deziah Dupree, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Westerville South is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. Bishop Watterson moved to 15-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Westerville South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-53 defeat against Big Walnut on the 1st. Bishop Watterson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
