Softball Recap: St. Johns Has No Trouble Against Winslow

The St. Johns Redskins made easy work of the Winslow Bulldogs on Wednesday and carried off a 22-6 win. Considering the Redskins have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kelsey Scarbrough, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Bellamia Nelson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

St. Johns always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winslow only posted an OBP of .419.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Johns and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Winslow, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

St. Johns has already played their next game, a 10-1 loss against Snowflake on the 20th. As for Winslow, they will square off against Alchesay at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
