Baseball Recap: Douglas Byrd Takes a Loss

Douglas Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 29th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Gray's Creek Bears, falling 22-0. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Douglas Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Gray's Creek, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Douglas Byrd Eagles face off against Seventy-First Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gray's Creek, they will take on Jack Britt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gray's Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
