Baseball Game Preview: Maury Commodores vs. Landstown Eagles

The Maury Commodores will head out to challenge the Landstown Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

While Commodores fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They blew past Greenbrier Christian Academy 13-5 on Tuesday.

Henry Mulvey tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Maury got a massive performance out of Lee Garris, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Landstown put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Tallwood. Everything went Landstown's way against Tallwood as Landstown made off with a 10-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Cam Tellefsen, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Colin Kim, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
