Basketball Recap: Ryder Niewenhuis and Jamian Medicine Horn Secure Win for Andes Central/Dakota Christian

Andes Central/Dakota Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Kimball/White Lake Wildkats with points to spare, taking the game 58-40. Andes Central/Dakota Christian has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Kimball/White Lake, too.

Leading Andes Central/Dakota Christian to victory were Jamian Medicine Horn and Ryder Niewenhuis. Medicine Horn went 6-for-10 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Niewenhuis went 5-for-12 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds. Those 18 points gave Medicine Horn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Garth Maas, who posted six points and nine boards.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian's record now sits at 12-7. As for Kimball/White Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-54 win against Marty Indian on the 22nd. As for Kimball/White Lake, they will face off against Freeman at 7:15 p.m. on February 28th. One thing working in Freeman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 matches.
