Football Recap: Donna Takes a Loss

Donna played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Harlingen South Hawks, falling 28-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Luke Guerrero threw for 81 yards and one touchdown. Yahir Mata was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Nathan Robles rushed for 45 yards.

It was another big night for Austen Shroyer, who threw for 222 yards and one TD while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 69 yards for Harlingen South.

Donna's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Harlingen South, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coincidentally, Donna and Harlingen South will both be playing Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial the next time they take the field. The Hawks will host the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Redskins will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on the 7th.
