Preview: El Capitan/Centennial Academy vs. Williams Vikings

Two dominant guards in Violet Barlow and Kai Mortensen are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, El Capitan/Centennial Academy will get right back to it and host the Williams Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

El Capitan/Centennial Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fredonia.

Williams suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-27 loss at the hands of Joseph City. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williams in their matchups with Joseph City: they've now lost six in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Braydyn Larimore, who scored 13 points. Kenzie Orozco was another key contributor, scoring two points along with four steals.

Williams struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Joseph City pulled down 23 offensive rebounds.

El Capitan/Centennial Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6. As for Williams, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

El Capitan/Centennial Academy strolled past Williams in their previous meeting on January 4th by a score of 51-36. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Mortensen, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will El Capitan/Centennial Academy still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
