Basketball Recap: Palmetto's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wren, Palmetto was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Crescent Tigers by a score of 42-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-16 on December 2nd.

Palmetto got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Skyler Ellison out in front who posted 23 points along with six boards and three blocks. Those 23 points gave Ellison a new career-high. Carrigan Holbert was another key player, putting up six points along with nine boards and four steals.

Palmetto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Palmetto's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Crescent, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Palmetto and Greenville Tech Charter will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Crescent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-14 win against Dixie on the 19th.
