Basketball Game Preview: Franklinton Red Rams vs. Person Rockets

The Franklinton Red Rams will head out to face off against the Person Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Franklinton is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest victory since January 30th on Friday. They put the hurt on Granville Central with a sharp 61-37 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-10.

Jayden Bowen was a one-man wrecking crew for Franklinton as he went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirby Ransom, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Person put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Northern Durham by a score of 55-45. The 55-point effort marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Person pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Franklinton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Franklinton came up short against Person in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 56-51. Can Franklinton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
