Basketball Recap: Hyde Park Takes a Loss

Hyde Park suffered their closest loss since February 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lincoln Park Lions by a score of 47-45. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Lions are ranked 36th).

This is the second loss in a row for Hyde Park and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Lincoln Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Hyde Park Thunderbirds duke it out with the Taft Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln Park, they will face off against Lane Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
