Baseball Game Preview: Stratford Spartans vs. Whites Creek Cobras

For the second straight game, Stratford will face off against Whites Creek. The Spartans will challenge the Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Stratford is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

If Stratford beats Whites Creek with eight runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Spartans beat the Cobras on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-5. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Cobras on their field since April 11, 2023.

For Whites Creek's part, Ty'Rique Keesee was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. Bobby Scales was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Stratford's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Whites Creek, they moved to 5-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
