Softball Recap: Mashpee Falcons vs. Rising Tide

Mashpee extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-13. They came up short against Rising Tide, falling 18-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Rising Tide this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-5 on Wednesday.

Michelle Gonsalves was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

In other batting news, Shelby Ruth was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2025. Mashpee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rising Tide, they will head out to square off against Sturgis East at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Storm have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.13 runs per game on average), something Rising Tide will no doubt try to take advantage of.
