Rio Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Filippo Bencetti led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten assists. Blaine Briscoe was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Rio Vista pushed their record up to 20-12 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Itasca, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.
