Mae Rameau leads a balanced attack to beat Madison Comprehensive

Recap: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Madison Comprehensive Rams

The Sandusky Blue Streaks waltzed into their matchup Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They greeted the New Year with with a 58-41 victory over Madison Comprehensive. For Sandusky, this counts as revenge for the 51-50 defeat Madison Comprehensive walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Sandusky's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mae Rameau, who scored 16 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rameau has scored at least 25% of Sandusky's points. Ra'kiya Collier was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and six assists.

Sandusky now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Madison Comprehensive, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Sandusky won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bellevue at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Bellevue presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sandusky in Ohio (Bellevue is ranked 152nd, while Sandusky is ranked 319th). As for Madison Comprehensive, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Holmes at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. West Holmes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
