Volleyball Game Preview: Discovery Warriors vs. Valor Academy

The Discovery Warriors will venture away from home to take on Valor Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Valor Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Discovery, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Discovery earned a 3-1 victory over Magnolia Science Academy Reseda.

The win didn't come easy: Magnolia Science Academy Reseda scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Valor Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lake Balboa College Prep, falling 3-0.

Valor Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-14, 25-13.

Valor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Discovery, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-1.

Discovery was able to grind out a solid win over Valor Academy in their previous meeting on September 8th, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
