Basketball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

If Meridian was feeling good fresh off their 61-39 takedown of Beaverton last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Meridian Mustangs took a hard 70-54 fall against the Freeland Falcons on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Falcons are ranked 21st).

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Freeland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meridian will host Gladwin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Freeland, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bridgeport at 5:30 p.m.
