Basketball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Rangers vs. Lutheran Lions

The Lewis-Palmer Rangers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lutheran and snuck past 44-41. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as Lewis-Palmer did.

Lewis-Palmer found their leader in underclassman Addison Kenley, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kenley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Blakesley, who scored two points along with two steals and two blocks.

Despite the defeat, Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: Berkley Schneider dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Schneider is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Isla Koffman was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.

Lewis-Palmer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis-Palmer will square off against the Thunder at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Lutheran, they will head out on the road to square off against the Kadets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 62.4 points so far this season, Air Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Lions better be ready for a challenge.
