Softball Recap: New Berlin West Takes a Loss

New Berlin West fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Pewaukee on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 6-5. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured ten defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Morgan Kopischke spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Serena Klein was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

New Berlin West's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pewaukee, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Berlin West will square off against Greenfield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pewaukee, they will head out to face off against Whitnall at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
