Basketball Recap: Limon Comes Up Short

Limon and Sedgwick County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Limon had to settle for second. They were dealt a 61-21 defeat at the hands of the Sedgwick County Cougars. The Badgers just can't catch a break and have now endured ten losses in a row.

Lainee Nein continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sedgwick County, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Nein a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Piper Buettenback, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Limon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Sedgwick County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Limon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sedgwick County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Haxtun at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
