Football Game Recap: Canton vs. Ringwood

Ringwood won the last time they faced Canton, and things went their way on Thursday, too. Ringwood put a hurting on Canton to the tune of 60-14. Ringwood were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Ringwood got off to a slow start in their previous match, but they had no such trouble against Canton and cruised to a 38-point first half. Canton came up with 14 to make it 38-14 heading into the break. The Ringwood defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match. The win bumped Ringwood's record up to 3-1. The loss dropped Canton's record to 2-4.

Ringwood will stay at home next week against Burns Flat-Dill City at 7:00 PM. Burns Flat-Dill City took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Ringwood's good fortune. As for Canton, they will face off against Waukomis. Neither of those teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
