Soccer Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission Northwest lost against Lawrence Free State back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 2-1. Shawnee Mission Northwest just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Lawrence Free State, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Shawnee Mission Northwest will square off against Mill Valley on Thursday. As for Lawrence Free State, they will take on Saint Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Thomas Aquinas' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
