MaxPreps Top 50 high school football scores: No. 4 Grayson blanks No. 16 Norcross in Georgia 7A semifinals

St. Thomas Aquinas wins 12th state title in school history after beating Edgewater 31-21 in Florida 7A championship.

In the only Top 25 showdown of the week No. 4 Grayson (Loganville) cruised to a dominant 28-0 win against No. 16 Norcross to advance to the Georgia AAAAAAA championship. Four-star quarterback Jake Garcia threw for two touchdowns and the defense posted their third shutout in the playoffs.

Up next is Collins Hill (Suwanee) who knocked off No. 32 Lowndes (Valdosta) in the other semifinal. Five-star athlete Travis Hunter finished the night with three touchdowns and an interception in the 31-14 win.

It's state championship week in Florida as six Top 50 high school football teams will be playing for a Sunshine State title.

Future Florida Gator Marcus Burke put on a huge performance in No. 48 Trinity Christian Academy's (Jacksonville) 25-22 win over No. 43 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood) in the 3A championship on Wednesday. The Lions went into halftime with a 16-0 lead but the Conquerors outscored the three-time defending state champs 25-6 in the final 24 minutes.



Burke finished the night with 144 yards receiving and two touchdowns. His second came on 4th and 7 in the final minute trailing 22-17 from 26 yards out. Future Miami Hurricane Thaddius Franklin rushed for two scores in the loss.

No. 25 Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale) won its second state title in three years beating Bolles (Jacksonville) 35-21 in the 4A championship on Thursday. Brody Palhegyi completed 29 of 33 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns with two of them going to Clemson signee Troy Stellato.

In the first of two title games on Friday, No. 18 Central (Miami) rolled to a 46-0 shutout win over Lake Minneola (Minneola) to repeat as 6A champs. Texas A&M signee Amari Daniels rushed for 172 yards and two scores as the Rockets won their seventh state title in school history.

No. 23 American Heritage (Plantation) won its first state title since 2017 beating Rickards (Tallahasee) 24-6 in the 5A championship.

No. 17 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) set a new FHSAA record winning its 12th state title in school history beating Edgewater (Orlando) 31-21 in the 7A championship. Junior running back Anthony Hankerson rushed for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns while the defense forced five turnovers including a 45-yard pick six from future Michigan Wolverine Ja'Den McBurrows.
