Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Ridgewood hadn't done well against Chicago Christian recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Knights 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ridgewood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Marko Miskovic paced Ridgewood's offense, picking up 18 kills. Miskovic got some help from Longbien Pham and his 14 assists. Finally, Oleskandr Oliinyk kept Ridgewood's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Despite the loss, Chicago Christian still got an impressive performance from Ryan Vanden Bosch, who had 25 digs. Vanden Bosch has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times he's played.

Ridgewood pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Chicago Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.
