Softball Recap: St. John's Falls Short Against Ranked Bishop O'connell

St. John is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Bishop O'Connell. The Cadets fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Cadets in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Yasmin Burrell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameran Corbett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Bishop O'Connell, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

St. John's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-6 victory against The Academy of the Holy Cross on the 8th. Bishop O'Connell has also already played their next match (against McLean), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
