Soccer Game Preview: Crosstown vs. Overton

The Crosstown Yetis will face off against the Overton Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crosstown has seven straight victories, Overton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Crosstown will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Memphis Central, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Yetis came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Crosstown considering their one-goal performance the match before.

They hit Memphis Central with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Raphael King (2), Jecsser Murillo Lara, and Solly Phillips.

Meanwhile, Overton fell victim to Memphis University School and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Owls. That's two games in a row now that Overton have lost by exactly three goals.

Overton now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Crosstown, their win bumped their record up to 11-0-2.

Crosstown beat Overton 3-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Yetis repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
