Basketball Recap: Rock Port Snags 13th Victory in Last 14 Games

Rock Port had won two straight games and Jack Meyerkorth did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Rock Port Blue Jays took down Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson] 74-59 thanks in part to Meyerkorth, who made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 35 points along with five assists and three steals. The game was his 16th in a row with at least ten points.

Logan Ellis was another key player, going 7 for 13 en route to 15 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Rock Port is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson], their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Port will challenge Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Platte Valley co-op [South Nodaway/Jefferson], they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
