Baseball Recap: Palmetto Ridge Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barron Collier, Palmetto Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Golden Gate Titans by a score of 10-5. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won nine in a row.

Palmetto Ridge got a great performance from Gabe Willard as he struck out ten batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave Willard a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Anthony San Pedro was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Cox, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

The victory got Palmetto Ridge back to even at 3-3. As for Golden Gate, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Coming up, Palmetto Ridge will head out to challenge Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Golden Gate, they will welcome Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
