Basketball Recap: Effingham Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Effingham has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-48 to the Paris Tigers on Wednesday. The Hearts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Effingham's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Paris, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Effingham and Paris should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Effingham (ranked 68th) will meet Greenville (ranked 370th) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Effingham will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Paris will challenge Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th up 188 places (49 vs. 237).
