Preview: Jubilee Brownsville vs. Port Isabel
Jubilee Brownsville is 9-0 against Port Isabel since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Jubilee Brownsville Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Port Isabel Tarpons at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Jubilee Brownsville has not lost a match since January 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They blew past Rio Hondo 8-1. With Jubilee Brownsville ahead 5-1 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Port Isabel came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They never let IDEA Sports Park onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Derrek Herrera had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Port Isabel.
Jubilee Brownsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. As for Port Isabel, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1.
Everything went Jubilee Brownsville's way against Port Isabel when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Jubilee Brownsville made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jubilee Brownsville since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
