Basketball Game Preview: Cocoa Beach Minutemen vs. Cocoa Tigers + How To Watch

Cocoa Beach is 1-9 against Cocoa since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Minutemen will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Cocoa Beach is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.

While Cocoa Beach didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Trinity Prep on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Cocoa Beach found their leader in sophomore Taj Holland, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holland has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Taival, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Cocoa Beach smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Cocoa played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 73-45 loss at the hands of Palm Bay. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cocoa Beach's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Cocoa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
