Basketball Recap: Rowe Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Rowe has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pioneer Diamondbacks. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Diamondbacks earlier this season, when they won 44-33.

Pioneer found their leader in sophomore Ebonie Chatman, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Chatman's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anika Fleischmann, who posted five points and 11 rebounds.

Rowe's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-5. As for Pioneer, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rowe will welcome Vela at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Pioneer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
