Basketball Recap: Baldwyn Takes a Loss

Baldwyn lost against New Site back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Baldwyn Bearcats were beaten by the New Site Royals 59-23. The match marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chloe Chism had a dynamite game for New Site, putting up 17 points. What's more, Chism also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Knight, who posted nine points and five steals.

Baldwyn dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for New Site, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Baldwyn will head out to face off against Tishomingo County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tishomingo County will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Baldwyn surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Site, they will host West Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Site has three straight victories, West Union has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
