Baseball Game Preview: Elder Panthers vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks

The Elder Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elder's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Lakota East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Elder is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Badin on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Lakota East came up short against Edgewood on Monday, falling 10-4.

Elder's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Lakota East, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

Everything went Elder's way against Lakota East in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Elder made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
