Basketball Recap: Nacoya Blocton and Narissa Blocton Secure Win for Ridgeview

Ridgeview won the last time they faced ED White and things went their way on Friday too. The Ridgeview Panthers walked away with a 60-53 win over the ED White Commanders. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Commanders are ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ridgeview was led to victory by Narissa Blocton and Nacoya Blocton. Narissa went 8 of 17 on her way to 30 points and five steals, while Nacoya went 7 of 14 on her way to 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 30 points gave Narissa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Rayes, who posted six points.

ED White's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zariona Thomas, who had 22 points and seven rebounds. Leandrea Mccloud was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Ridgeview has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for ED White, they moved to 5-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Ridgeview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-32 victory against Fletcher on the 28th. As for ED White, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-36 loss against Oakleaf on the 28th.
