Softball Recap: Azusa Aztecs vs. Nogales Nobles

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Duarte, Azusa was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the Nogales Nobles 11-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Azusa considering their one-run performance the game before.

Juliana Canizales made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up six earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Canizales was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of her eight plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Marissa Sainz and Aubrey Guzman did most of the damage at the plate: Sainz scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Guzman scored three runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Sofia Carrillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
