Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

Pioneer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Whitney Wildcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Pioneer was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Whitney's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-23.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Whitney, their win bumped their record up to 19-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pioneer will face off against rival Oxford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Whitney is set to take on their familiar foe Glenn at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
