Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Skates Past Cortez with Ease

Thunderbird's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cortez Colts 80-20. The matchup marked the Titans' most dominant win of the season so far.

Roscella Tsosie had a dynamite game for Thunderbird, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Isabella Illingworth, who went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Tsosie wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Thunderbird was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory got Thunderbird back to even at 5-5. As for Cortez, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunderbird will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Moon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. After both having extra time off, Cortez and Coronado will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
