Baseball Recap: St. Anthony Finds Home Field Redemption Against Artesia

There's no place like home for St. Anthony, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Artesia Pioneers 9-8 on Friday. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Owen Frazier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew James, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Frazier wasn't the only one working in the home run department: St. Anthony lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2024.

St. Anthony's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Artesia, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will face off against Paramount at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Artesia, they are taking a road trip to take on Anaheim at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
