Basketball Recap: Hendrick Hudson's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Hendrick Hudson came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 63-19 victory over the Peekskill Red Devils. Given the Sailors' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Red Devils are ranked 568th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Kaitlyn Raguso, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Angelina Carbone, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Hendrick Hudson was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Peekskill still got an impressive performance from Jazlyn Parra, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 10 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Parra a new career-high in points.

Hendrick Hudson pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. As for Peekskill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Hendrick Hudson has already played their next match, a 50-32 victory against Ardsley on the 7th. As for Peekskill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-34 defeat against Edgemont on the 7th.
