Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Gibsonburg

Gibsonburg proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers, sneaking past 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 back in April.

Gibsonburg pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Central Catholic is set to face off against their familiar foe Hopewell-Loudon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 4.1, the Chieftains 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
