Baseball Recap: North Rock Creek Drops Season-High Score on Shawnee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Rock Creek). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Shawnee Wolves a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jace Plumb made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Cason Coomer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Mavrick Wingo, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Hasten Conley, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

North Rock Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Rock Creek's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Shawnee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, North Rock Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Mannford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shawnee, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Coweta at 6:00 p.m.
