Softball Preview: Dixon Rams vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils

The Dixon Rams will face off against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Dixon is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home last Tuesday. They never let Rio Vista get on the board and left with a 24-0 win. Dixon hasn't had any issues with Rio Vista recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dakota Gaball made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gaball was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Dixon got a massive performance out of Emily Morris, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Morris has posted since back in March of 2024. Sophia Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Like Dixon, Davis Sr. also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaytlin LeBar-Triepke. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits LeBar-Triepke has allowed over her last six games. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Gracie Martinez was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Molly Roseen, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
