The Oakdale Mustangs will challenge the East Union Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakdale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so East Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Oakdale lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Patterson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-2 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jordan Haver made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Landon Schutte was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bas Stice, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Oakdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patterson only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, East Union waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.
Not much got past Joe Alvarez, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Mountain House off the board.
On the hitting side, Brayden Camara was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
East Union's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oakdale, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Oakdale beat East Union 9-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
