Soccer Game Preview: John Glenn vs. New Philadelphia

The John Glenn Little Muskies will take on the New Philadelphia Quakers in a tournament on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

John Glenn proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Steubenville, sneaking past 2-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Philadelphia). Their defense stepped up to hand Carrollton an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. New Philadelphia's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

New Philadelphia is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 41 goals over those 12 matchups. As for John Glenn, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-2.

John Glenn couldn't quite get it done against New Philadelphia in their previous matchup last Tuesday as they fell 2-0. Can the Little Muskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
