Basketball Game Preview: Pinckneyville Panthers vs. Red Bud Musketeers

The Pinckneyville Panthers will square off against the Red Bud Musketeers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pinckneyville has three straight wins, Red Bud has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Pinckneyville didn't have too much trouble with Benton as they won 51-36.

Meanwhile, Red Bud ended up a good deal behind Sparta on Wednesday and lost 62-47. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 158th).

Red Bud's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pinckneyville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Everything went Pinckneyville's way against Red Bud when the teams last played back in February of 2015, as Pinckneyville made off with a 60-34 victory. Will Pinckneyville repeat their success, or does Red Bud have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
