Football Recap: South Decatur Comes Up Short on the Road Against North Decatur

South Decatur had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 61-0 loss at the hands of the North Decatur Chargers on Friday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

North Decatur was led to victory by Corbin Thackery and Matthew Fields. Thackery gained 88 total yards and four touchdowns, while Fields threw for 135 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Fields a new career-high.

Coming up, South Decatur will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Shenandoah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Decatur, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Eastern Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
