Recap: Cedar Ridge Raiders vs. Round Rock Westwood Warriors

The Cedar Ridge Raiders had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They slipped by Round Rock Westwood 66-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Peyton Dulin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Cedar Ridge's points. Another player making a difference was Randall Guidry, who scored 17 points.

Cedar Ridge pushed their record up to 10-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Round Rock Westwood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Cedar Ridge and Harker Heights will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th at. One thing working in Harker Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. Round Rock Westwood will finish 2023 at home by hosting Brentwood Christian at 12:00 p.m. on December 29th. Brentwood Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Round Rock Westwood is ranked 117th).
