Basketball Recap: Community Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Community Christian hadn't done well against Heartland Christian recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Community Christian Eagles pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Heartland Christian Saints. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 46-36 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Community Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keegan Hurley, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Briscoe, who posted 14 points.

Community Christian pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Heartland Christian, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community Christian will square off against Cincinnati Landmark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heartland Christian, they will face off against Colonial Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
